Weekly Meal Preparation

No recipes here I just wanted to show my weekly meal preparation. Each week I generally try if the time permits to cook and prepare most of the meals that my family will eat for the week. I love the feeling of being organised. I also love the feeling of having more time to spend with my family during the week. When coming home from work it can be very enjoying to have the meal already prepared or already cooked.

Some of the items I cooked up for this weeks meals was a big yummy cottage pie. This is great for reheating and actually sometimes tastes better once it is reheated. It also lasts all week in the fridge. I make salads in advanced and keep them in the glass masonry jars and in these jars they stay super fresh. Whe I am ready to use the salad I simply tip it out into a large bowl, dress and enjoy. This week I also made my pumpkin spinach salad, there is a recipe for this already on my blog. This one my husband and I enjoy for lunches. This is something not too heavy and makes returning to work to sit at a desk easy. I also made potato salad and boiled some eggs. I prepare a few bowls of vegies, some I cook and some I just cut and prepare ready to cook. This way for the first night or two things are ready to go and for the last couple nights of the week it is a case of just tipping them in the steamer and turning them on, no preparation mess.

Once I finish my weekly meal preparations I always have this great feeling of satisfaction seeing my containers all lined up. Obsessive compulsive, maybe?? Anyway I hope this inspires you to perhaps consider taking sometime even if only an hour or two on the weekend to get your meals prepared the advantages are huge. You will eat healthier and you will have so much less waste.
